partecipated budget

The municipality of Modena following the example of Porto Alegre (Brasil) has decided to experiment the so-called “partecipated budget” which means to involve citizens in the discassion of the municipality budget. They can presents proposal in different fields: public works, enviroment, sport, culture and social security. During a meeting citizens can present proposals of two kind: city level and neighboroughood level. The proposals are evalueted by special commiussions and in a second meeting according to the budget may be accepted or not.
